STONEMASONRY

At Stone Central we specialise in all aspects of stonemasonry and have built a reputation for excellent levels of knowledge, craftsmanship, service and delivery. We are highly experienced working on historical and listed buildings, as well as creating stunning works for the more contemporary building designs and the urban landscape. We have specialist knowledge in all aspects of stonemasonry including restoration, new build, surveys, and consultancy.

Architectural Stonemasonry

Stone Central undertake all aspects of architectural stonemasonry, large or small, such as mullions, columns and pillars, finials and corbels, stone window and door surrounds and stone sills. We can cut and work all types of stone from granite to marble and limestone. We have worked on a wide range of projects that have included us removing and re-using stone from structures as well as sourcing and producing accurate matches for restoration and repair on projects.

Walling

We have completed numerous projects involving the. rebuilding and restoration of walling. We carefully repair or replace stone and take great care with the mortars we use to match the existing mortar. We match brick patterns to preserve the look of the original wall. We have worked on projects of varying sizes from old colliery walls to the large retaining walls on the approach into Lime Street Station in Liverpool.

Carving

Our skilled team are able to carve any object that is required in stone to the very highest standard. We have provided carving for restoration projects that have included creating a replica Victorian fireplace from original photographs for a large, prestigious hotel, as well as carving new sections for statues that have been damaged by time or during storage and transit. We have worked on entirely new commissions and restorative work, restoring and replicating church crosses, gargoyles, grotesques and numerous other pieces.

Marble & Granite Work

We have experience working on marble and granite projects of all sizes, from cladding the Visitor Centre and café at the summit of Mount Snowdon (Hafod Eryri at Yr Wyddfa) to replicating lost marble fireplaces in a listed building hotel. Both of these materials can be difficult to work with and require skill and expertise. We have successfully completed many projects involving both of these materials and would be happy to discuss any requirements you may have.
