ITV required an extension to the existing Coronation Street set at Media City UK in Trafford.
The set needed to be extended in order to include a new street ‘Victoria Street’. This street was to include a variety of new buildings and opportunities for filming. The set includes a warehouse, police station, shops and Weatherfield North tram stop.
Project Detail
Stone Central were appointed to create the new facades for the buildings. We had to ensure that the brick and the stone was appropriate for the supposed age of the street and would fit in as a natural extension. We worked closely with ITV to fit the works in around the filming schedule to keep any disruption to a minimum. It was a fascinating project to work on and witness the filming of such an iconic show.
