Stone Central (NW) Ltd is one of the North of England’s leading stonemasonry companies. We offer a complete restoration, conservation and masonry service for traditional and contemporary projects and pride ourselves on the high quality of workmanship and standard of service, combining traditional values and craftsmanship with the latest repair techniques and technologies.

Our Aim

At Stone Central, we have a deep passion for the conservation of historic buildings. We want to remain at the forefront in masonry and building restoration to provide quality and innovative solutions for the conservation of our architectural heritage, contributing to the protection of our historic buildings and structures.

Experience

Our team are all professional, highly experienced and specialists in their field. Attention to detail and high levels of craftsmanship is something we are passionate about. Our contract managers have vast experience of working on historical projects as well as modern architecture and new build. We pride ourselves not only on the quality of our work but also in the communication with our clients at every stage, from survey, planning and pricing through to completion and aftercare. 

Apprenticeships

At Stone Central, we are keen to maintain our skills heritage by investing our time and energy in apprenticeships. To date we have supported seven school leavers and two students through this programme, all of which have gone on to secure full-time positions either within our company or have set up on their own, subcontracting to some of the industry’s main contractors. 

Working closely within our incredible team, we provide support, guidance, encouragement, and expertise along the way. Together with York College we are always eager to help people who are looking to make a career in our industry.  

In 2021 we were delighted to be approached by Historic England to work in partnership with them to host a mature student apprenticeship. The apprentice has been working onsite with Stone Central, mastering new skills through practical, hands-on learning whilst studying the theory at York College.
He was recently awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award at York College Construction Awards and is now working on placement at Lichfield Cathedral.
