Railway ProjectsStone Central NW Ltd have worked for Network Rail for the last 15 years, through a variety of different Principal Contractors, gaining a wealth of experience on Railway Infrastructure projects. Our PTS qualified stonemasons can work trackside, allowing us to work within restricted areas. Having carried out a wide range of work we are familiar with the standard Network Rail specifications and procedures, enabling us to deliver high quality work, using the correct materials and approved methodologies. Recent work has involved supplying and fixing new stone to match a number of listed bridges along the Stephenson's Liverpool to Manchester line, including a number of original Stations such as the impressive Liverpool Lime Street Station. We also undertake specialist brickwork repairs to structures within the railways and have recently replaced 90,000 bricks to a Grade II Listed Viaduct in Holmes Chapel, constructed in 1841. The majority of the re-casing work was required to the arch barrels, meaning Ribs and Laggings (T's and Sweeps) were used to allow the bricks to be replaced
