The final part of the new canal link was to form an entrance in to the Canning Dock allowing access to the Albert Dock and other Waterfront Docks. A cofferdam was installed and we were employed to form the new entrance using what we could from the large stone units that were originally part ofwalls construction. Our stonemasons set up an area on site and worked the stones to the curved profiles required using air tools. The units were large in size as you can see from the photographs so it was a real credit to our lads who overcame the difficult site conditions and saw the job through from start to finish by fixing the stones in place. New stone copings were made using St Bees sandstone to match the original units to give the finishing touch to the project.Contract Value - £55,000
