To allow the new canal link to be built in front of the Liver Buildings on Liverpool’s waterfront, we were asked to take down and rebuild in new locations the Alfred Lewis Jones Statue and the King Edward VII Statue. The sheer size of bronze Kind Edward VII on his horse made the operation quite tricky. Due to our previous experience in working with memorials of this size, the Statue was soon down at ground level before being positioned on a wagon for delivery to Liverpool’s Conservation Centre. All the stone units were then numbered and stored to one side, before being rebuilt in the new location. As well as the Statue work we were also asked by Balfour Beatty to clad the parapets to the new bridges using granite panels. Contract Value - £110,000
