Birkenhead Priory is Merseysides oldest building and Stone Central were proud to be commissioned to carry out restoration and repairs on the Priory's St Mary's Tower. Being a Grade II listed building our expertise inthe use of traditional techniques and materials was essential in ensuring the historical fabric of the building was maintained. Our highly skilled team of Stonemasons worked the individual replacement components tomatch the original profiles before fixing them in place. St Bees red sandstone was used as the closest sourced match to the original stone and all pointing was undertaken using traditional lime mortar.
Bolton School6th Form CentreDesigned by Cassidy + Ashton, the sixth form centre complements the existing Grade II listed buildings that makeup the original parts of the school, and the new three-storey building offers a stark contrast to the existing Neo-Gothic façade and turrets. The curved elevations to the building created a few challenges, but our experienced Stonemasonsstill managed to complete the project on time and to an exceptionally high standard. The building has since receiveda commendation at the National Stone awards in London. Contract Value £200k
